De stadskaarten zijn gegeneraliseerde kaarten voor verschillende schaal niveaus. Er zijn drie kaarten:  

De stadskaart is een kaart bedoeld voor schaal 1:5000 (1 centimeter op de kaart geeft 50 meter in het echt weer). Door deze grote schaal is elk afzonderlijk woonhuis en elke straatnaam goed te onderscheiden. Binnen de gemeentegrens zijn met kleuren verschillende functies van bebouwing en terreinen aangegeven. De kaart heeft een  afmeting van  2.20 meter hoog en 2.70 meter breed.

De straatnamenkaart kleur is een kaart bedoeld voor schaal 1:12.500. Binnen de gemeentegrens zijn met kleuren verschillende functies van terreinen aangegeven.

De straatnamenkaart zwart-wit is een kaart bedoeld voor schaal 1:12.500.

De straatnamenkaarten zijn zo gemaakt dat ze op A0-formaat afgedrukt kunnen worden waarbij de straatnamen nog leesbaar zijn.  

De BLT is de bron van waaruit onder andere de stadskaart Eindhoven wordt gemaakt. De productie van afgeleide producten vindt gedeeltelijk geautomatiseerd plaats.
